PulseGuard™ Pro with LinkPage has been designed to assist people with epilepsy whose heart rate either drops or increases during a seizure and live within a home which requires staff or carers to be alerted to seizure activity via a dedicated paging system.
How does PulseGuard Pro with Link Page work?
The PulseGuard™ Pro with LinkPage system consists of four components: a wrist or ankle worn sensor that communicates via Bluetooth with the PulseGuard™ Pro tablet (a specially modified Apple iPad) system – a small compact box unit that connects PulseGuard Pro into any existing telecare/nurse call or warden call system. But also has the capability of being a stand-alone system with one or more pagers. PulseGuard pager – small compact pager that displays patients details on digital screen with range or ¼ mile that can be extended to 2 miles with additional booster.
The lightweight heart-monitoring sensor can be comfortably worn on either the wrist or ankle and does not interfere with the user’s sleep or daily tasks. The sensor is waterproof allowing for monitoring even when the user is showering. The sensor constantly monitors the wearer’s heart rate and sends data to the PulseGuard™ Pro tablet that is located within the same room as the user.
The tablet processes this constant data flow and will raise an alert if the user’s heart rate falls outside the normal parameters that can be individually programmed. The tablet communicates constantly via Bluetooth with the LinkPage system that can be connected into the users existing telecare/nurse call or warden call system or used alone with the PulseGuard Pro Pager. As soon as PulseGuard Pro’s alarm is activated it triggers an immediate response from either the connected telecare system or the pager enabling staff or carers to be alerted immediately to a seizure.
The PulseGuard™ tablet stores all the data that can be analysed or sent to a healthcare professional if required to assist with care plans and medication reviews. PulseGuard™ Pro is suitable for all ages.
